Illustrator can be a confusing program once you have used Photoshop because they look very familiar, yet their functions are different. I learned that Illustrator is more of a sketching program rather than a photo editing one, which intriqued me, particularly the text manipulations that can be done.

 

The project that worked best for me was the Live Trace. I had the chance to transform an image that I love and edit it to make it look more interesting and unique. Although I loved using the text on path, I had difficulties at the beginning because it was challenging to get the text to follow the path that I wanted it to, but eventually I found a way that worked best for me.

 

On this project I definitely used my skill in problem solving. I ran into several problems that frustrated me but I knew that I had to focus and be an effective communicator and ask for help, or just do some research. If I had time, I would like to improve my skills on text effects. These effects have several deminsions to them that I would want to learn and improve on.
